Andre Davie - Dig Two Graves
Andre Davie – Dig Two Graves

Andrew Davie writes cracking crime shorts that with so few words, manage to envelop a reader with scenarios, characters lives and situations that are beautifully rich with depth.

His stories on Bristol Noir have been real concentrated treats to showcase the knack of his craft so well.

Dig Two Graves is his latest novella from the Indie Book beast that is Close To The Bone, who host some genre-defining greats in the noir, crime and grit lit arenas, including Paul D. Brazill, Paul Heatley, Tom Leins, Holy Rae Garcia any many more.

I found myself very quickly absorbed by Andrew’s words and chapters – just the right length for me here – concise and sharp. Suited and adding to a well-balanced tension that leads to an epic bullet-ridden cinematic climax.

With great nods to Comando, The Marathon Man and Rambo, this novella is a perfect cinematic escape, by a masterful story-teller.

The cinematic quality and well-crafted wordplay make it very easy to get lost, transported and bare witness to the cutting characters and incisive crime noir here. Davie’s grit-lit military-noir style is rich and not without a perfect poetic twist here and there for enhanced depth. Like a master puppeteer, Davie shapes the book and story with time slots to set you up with floorless character background, set-up and execution.

”This deliciously dark and action packed military noir is a real treat… I loved every word.”

Close To The Bone has packaged this up just right, it looks the part and Davie’s words shine crime fiction brilliance from every page. If you like noir, military crime fiction or just plain fun action, this is a must-read, you won’t be disappointed.

Dig Two Graves is out now with Close To The Bone.
